Jimetta A. Colston, MBA
Harrisburg native Jimetta Colston has been an accomplished member of the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) team since 2009. Jimetta started her HE&R journey with the Hersheypark Group Sales Department as the Consignment Sales Manager. Within two short years, she was promoted to Territory Sales Manager (TSM).
Most recently, Jimetta has been promoted to Manager of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) at HE&R. In her current role, she serves as a resource to the organization ensuring HE&R is fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees and guests feel welcomed, valued, and respected. She also focuses on recruitment and retention initiatives for HE&R’s diverse workforce.
All her life she has been goal-oriented and determined to achieve her dreams and aspirations no matter what challenges she had to face. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Penn State University in 2001, Jimetta earned her MBA from Kutztown University of PA in 2003. She is extremely honored to be the first in her family to graduate from college and receive a graduate degree.
In addition, Jimetta is extremely passionate about giving back to her community and is active in several local organizations and projects. She is a long-time member and Church Secretary of John Paul Scott Community Church. She is the Vice-chair of Diversity & Inclusion Professionals of Central PA, a Board Member of The Neighborhood Center UMC, a member of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC and PA Diversity Coalition. Jimetta also played an integral part in the Story Behind the Mask Fundraiser Gala Event, the Annual Keystone Juneteenth Observance Event and the National KaBoom Build Project at Foose Elementary School.
At HE&R, Jimetta is the Advisor for the Workforce Inclusion Committee (WIC) and serves on the Women in Leadership (WIL) Committee, HR Employee Engagement Committee, Planning Committee for Hershey Area All Things Diversity and is an active member of the Project Fellowship Program in partnership with the Milton Hershey School. With a focus on connecting with and serving local area youth, her greatest goal is to be a positive role model for them and to pave the way and provide access to career opportunities.
Among her many accolades, Jimetta is a 2018 “Game Changers” Honoree and recipient of the 26th Annual YWCA Women of Excellence Award and 2nd Annual “Member of the Year” Award for the National Black MBA Association. She was recently profiled for the CBS 21 News “Women at Work” segment highlighting HE&R’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. She’s been featured as a trailblazer professionally and within the community by the Urban Connection of the Capital Region. She has also been selected as a panel speaker for several well-known community events in the Harrisburg/Hershey Region.
Jimetta resides in Harrisburg with her husband James and daughter Jae.
